Biloxi Daily Herald on 23 June 1920
"There occurred in Biloxi yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock a death which caused a
distinct shock to the many relatives and friends of the family, when Mrs. Josephine
Gregoire, wife of W. F. Gorenflo passsed to the great beyond after an illness which
only became serious shortly before her death. Mrs. Gorenflo, who was 44 years of
age, was a native of New Orleans, and had been a resident of Biloxi for the past
eighteen years. Mrs. Gorenflo, a devout member of the Church of the Nativity, was
identified with church work and was at all times a faithful and conscientious member
and church worker. She was also interested in social welfare and other activities in
Biloxi where she took part in many events. Mrs. Gorenflo was a loving wife and
mother. While her health has not been good, her death was altogether unexpected. She
has always been congenial and thoughtful, always ready to assist those in distress
about her and ever mindful of those who were ill and in whom she visited or
otherwise assisted. Deceased leaves besides her husband, four boys, William,
Stephen, Louis and Wilfred, and one daughter, Josephine. She is also survived by a
mother, three sisters and two brothers and other relatives. The funeral was held
this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Gorenflo residence, 154 Seal avenue. Services
were conducted in the Church of the Nativity with interment in the Biloxi cemetery.
A large concourse of relatives and friends attended the last sad rites of the
deceased. The numerous beautiful floral offerings demonstrated the high esteem in
which Mrs. Gorenflo was held."
