The Berrien Press -- Mattie Odessa Bishop, 75, of Murrayville, formerly of 
Adel, died September 4, 2007 at her residence.
 Born February 18, 1932 in Berrien County to the late Lonnie and Zora Belle 
Horton Gray, she was a homemaker and retired interior designer. She was 
married to the late Hugh Dorsey Bishop.
 Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Nick Tyler of 
Murrayville; one son, John Bishop of Gainesville; two sisters, Betty Pearson 
of Nashville and Mary Hawkins of Ray City; five grandchildren, April (Donnie) 
Guthrie of Adel, Crystal (Cory) Scruggs of Gainesville, John Bishop, Jr. and 
Todd Bishop, both of Palatka, FL, Chad (Jennie) Bishop of Hahira; eight great-
grandchildren, Samatha Guthrie, Abby Guthrie, Tyler Guthrie, all of Adel, 
Hunter Scruggs, Kyle Scruggs, Justin Scruggs, all of Gainesville, Ashley 
Bishop of Hahira, Matalie Bishop of Palatka.
 Funeral services were held Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral 
Home with Rev. Lawton Watson officiating.
 Interment was in Westview Cemetery.
 Pallbearers were Chad Bishop, Tommy Pearson, Randall Pearson, Donnie Pearson, 
Rob Hawkins, Donnie Guthrie, Cory Scruggs.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
