 Katie Elizabeth "Betty" Bennett, 86, of Nashville died June 17, 2013, at 
Berrien Nursing Center.
 She was born on November 8, 1926 in Berrien County to the late William M. and 
Mary Brown Boykin. She was a homemaker, had worked at Nashville Textile, and was 
employed by the Berrien County Board of Education as a crossing guard for many 
years. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in 
death by four sisters, Jewell B. Mathis, Joyce B. Chapple, Stella B. Cox, Nellie 
B. Bailey; two brothers, J.R. Boykin and Jack D. Boykin; and a granddaughter, 
Paula Elizabeth Stone.
 She is survived by her husband, Marcus Edgar Bennet of Nashville; four 
daughters, Wanda (Lester) Brookshire of Rome, Becky (Rev. Steve) Davis of 
Hinesville, Mary (Rev. Freddie) Stone of Nashville and Joye Bennett of 
Nashville; two sisters, Jane B. Griner of Jasper, FL and Polly B. Hendrix of 
Evans; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter.
 Funeral services were held June 19 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral 
Home with the Revs. Jackie Connell and Ed Gilliard officiating.  Steve Davis 
sang "In the Garden," accompanied by Waunell Nichols.
 Interment was in Westview Cemetery.
 Pallbearers were Cory Harrelson, Adam Davis, Kenneth Stone, Will Dasher, Keith 
Stone, Timothy Stone, J.W. Harrelson, Josh Ott.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
