 Junior Benefield, 67, of Nashville died May 27, 2004 at South Georgia Medical 
Center in Valdosta.

 Born February 8, 1937 in Berrien County to the late Enoch Benjamin and Viola 
Hughes Benefield, he was a retired inventory control inspector with Nashville 
Mills. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was married to the late 
Gloria Jean Benefield.

 Survivors include two daughters, June Marie Singletary of Lakeland and Tracey 
Moore of Hahira; two sisters, Gladys Gable of Los Angeles, CA and Rose Kohler 
of Nashville; one brother, Buren Benefield of Ray City; four grandchildren.

 Funeral services were held May 30 at 4 p.m. at Poplar Springs Missionary 
Baptist Church with the Revs. Vernon Hughes and Doug Griner officiating. Alicia 
New sang "How Great Thou Art." 

 Interment was in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

 Active pallbearers were Ronnie Hughes, Bruce Mathis, Marshall Mathis, Tony 
Benefield, Greg Hughes, Jerry Brogdon.

 Honorary pallbearers were Freddy Hughes, Robert Swanson, Doc Griffin, Robert 
Hughes, T.C. Hughes, W.E. Hughes, Earl Hughes, Lee Hughes, Ronald Griner.

 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
