 James Donald Benefield, 62, of Nashville, died December 1, 2013, at his 
residence.
 He was born October 19, 1951, in Atkinson County to the late James Edward and 
Thelma Connell Benefield. He was also preceded in death by one grandchild. Mr. 
Benefield was a retired automobile mechanic for the Georgia Department of 
Transportation. Known for his creativity, he excelled in welding, drafting and 
building. Mr. Benefield enjoyed fishing and was an award-winning coon hunter 
throughout the Southeast.
 He is survived by his children, Donald Dwayne Benefield and finance’, Sandra 
Giddens of Nashville, Tammy Denise Benefield Rush and finance’ Bobby Lewis of 
Jacksonville, FL, Lisa Ann Benefield Washington and finance’, Al Leary of Macon 
and Robert George Benefield and wife, Crystal of Nashville as well as nine 
grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
 A graveside service was held on December 2 at 2 p.m. in Vickers Church 
Cemetery, Nashville with Rev. Donnie Wright officiating.
 Pallbearers were Roy Cooper, Rodney Patterson, Jeff Thompson, Andy Thompson, 
Timmy Thompson and Jeffery Jones.
 Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
