 Dewey Cleveland Barnes, 79, of Enigma died February 27, 2007 at his residence.
 Born May 15, 1927, in Birmingham, AL to the late Berry B. and Fannie A. Orrick 
Barnes, he was a retired steel worker and union spokesman for the United Auto 
Workers Union and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, billiards, and 
carpentry projects, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son in law, Tom Schweizer, a 
brother, Roy Barnes and a brother-in-law, Robert Grist.
 Survivors include his wife, Jackie Murphree Barnes of Enigma; three sons and 
one daughter-in-law, David and Glenda Barnes of Grayling, MI, Robbie Barnes and 
Mike Barnes, both of Enigma; daughter, Stella B. Schweizer of Grayling; three 
sisters and two brothers-in-law, Berry B. and Vanda Sewell of Ormond Beach, FL, 
Ruby B. and Rudolph Franklin of Enigma, Ruth B. Grist of Tifton; 15 
grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
 Funeral services were held March 3 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Albritton-
Beaumont Funeral Directors with Pastor Becky King officiating.
 Interment was in Enigma City Cemetery.
 Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors of Tifton was in charge of the 
arrangements.
