Kizzie Ruth Barnaskey, 84, of Valdosta, passed away Wednesday evening, Dec. 22, 
2004 at the Heritage House Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was born 
Feb. 22, 1921, in Berrien County to the late Joe and Verdie Harnage. She was a 
member of Freewill Baptist Church in Valdosta. One of her greatest joys was 
quilting for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, 
George Barnaskey; and a son-in-law, Dave Clark.
 Survivors include three daughters and sons in law, Vern Clark, Valdosta, Dean 
and Troy Hewitt, Valdosta, Chris and Jerry Becker, Poquoson, VA; two sons and 
daughters in law, Al and Aline Cook, Valdosta, Jimmy and Wilma Cook, Jasper, 
FL; 22 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; 
sister, Barbara Matejka, Cordele, GA
 Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. , Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, in the 
Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Riverview 
Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8- p.m. today, Dec. 23 at 
the funeral home.
