 Andrew Jackson (PaPa J) Barnard, 82, of Colquitt died May 22, 2004 at his 
residence.

 Born December 13, 1921 in Berrien County, he was retired owner of Barnard's 
Convenience Foods. He served as Colquitt city councilman, as mayor for six 
months, and as mayor pro tem six years. He attended Donalsonville Free Will 
Baptist Church.

 Survivors include his wife, Inez H. Barnard of Colquitt; three daughters, 
Patricia Hopkins and Linda Knight, both of Valdosta, Robin Renee Griffin of 
Colquitt; eight sons, Russell Barnard, Ronnie Barnard, Gary Barnard, all of 
Valdosta, Daniel Barnard of Bainbridge, Roger Barnard of Donalsonville, Johnny 
Linton of Port St. Joe, FL, Bennie Frank Linton of Wewahitchka, FL., Richard 
Redd of Colquitt; 22 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.

 Funeral services were held May 24 at 3 p.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with 
Rev. Rollin Rathel officiating.

 Interment was in Colquitt City Cemetery with military honors.

 Active pallbearers were Wayne Barnard, Bryan Barnard, Chad Harrison, Michael 
Griffin, Berry Reynolds, Daniel Barnard, Randell Fisher.

 Honorary pallbearers were Colquitt city councilmen and Jim Holt.

 Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
