 James Earl Ballard, Sr., 66, of Ray City died December 16, 2012.
 He was born October 2, 1946, in Remerton and resided in Ray City for six y
years. He was preceded in 
death by five half-sisters, Audrey (Bill) Wilson, Juanita (Willie) Rhodes, 
Doris (Arlie) Griffin, Dorothy (Garfield) Stanford, Clareise (John) Guess, and 
one half-brother, Otis (Quille) Ray.
 He worked as a welder and enjoyed fishing, landscaping and gardening and had a g
great sense of humor. He was a member of Vision Church of God in Nashville.
Survivors include two sons, James Ballard, Jr., and Michael D. Bradley 
(caregiver); two sisters, Lorean (J.B.) Browning and Barbara (Jerry) Majetka; 
brother, Billy (Linda) Ray; two granddaughters, Amanda Ballard and Catlyn 
Ballard,  two grandsons, James Ballard, III, and James (Turtle) Ballard, V; 
many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, several close friends.
 A memorial service was held December 19 at 2 p.m. at Ray City First Baptist C
Church.
