 Ruby Ray Allen, 88, of Enigma, died Monday, June 13, 2011, at her residence. 
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson
Home for Funerals. The Rev. Pete Jones will officiate with burial to follow at
Oakridge Cemetery. Ray Moorman, Ted McMillan, Kip McMillan, Mike McMillan and
Timothy Dorminey will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Darwin
Walker, John Phillips, Leroy Little, Cecil Giddens, Bruce Giddens, Bentley
Barrentine, Tommy Benefield and Tim McMillan. The family will receive friends from 7
until 9 tonight at Bowen
Donaldson Home for Funerals. The Rev. Pete Jones will officiate with burial to

  Mrs. Allen was born on July 13, 1922 in Turner County and was the daughter of D
D. W. Ray and Mae Belle Cravey Ray, both deceased. She was also preceded in d
death by her husband, Harold Dean Allen Sr., who died in 1984, one brother and o
one sister. She was a homemaker and a member of Enigma Baptist Church. She was a
an active partner in the family farm for many years.
  Mrs. Allen is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold Jr. and 
Carolyn Allen of Enigma and Roger and Sara Allen of Douglas; five sisters, 
Wilma Ikerd of Tifton, Mittie Dorminey of Brookfield, Lucille McMillan of 
Enigma, Evelyn Kitchens of Screven and Jean Signorello of Orange City, Fla.; 
six grandchildren and their spouses, Yancy and Debbie Allen of Pittsview, Ala., 
Shan Allen of Enigma, Kam and Karen Allen of Enigma, Roz and Andy Johnson of 
Valdosta, Hope and Chase Cook of Athens and Rebecca Allen of Athens; five
great-grandchildren, Chancy Allen and his wife, Kimberly, of Enigma, Kaela Allen of
Enigma, Carmen Dowdy of Nashville, Doug Hall of Enigma and Eli Cook of Athens; one
great
grandchildren, Chancy Allen and his wife, Kimberly, of Enigma, Kaela Allen of 
Enigma, Carmen Dowdy of Nashville, Doug Hall of Enigma and Eli Cook of Athens; 
one great-great-grandson, Trenton Dowdy of Nashville; and a special friend, Fr
Fred Sumner.
  Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to Enigma Baptist C
Church, 391 Main Street, Enigma, GA 31749.
