    Judge Elwyn Mitchell Akins, 81, of Nashville, passed away Sunday, April 5, 
2009, at his residence after a lengthy illness. Mr. Akins was born July 19, 
1927, in Trenton, Fla., to the late Mitchell and Ollie Hilliard Akins. He 
obtained a law degree and was a member of the Florida Bar Association for over 
50 years and was a member of the William T. Carlton Masonic Lodge No. 46 in 
Trenton, Fla. Judge Akins was a member of Camp Creek Missionary Baptist Church 
in Clinch County. Along with his parents, Mr. Akins was preceded in death by a 
son, Jerry Price. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Akins of Nashville, Ga.; 
daughters and son-in-law, Johanna Akins, Gainesville, Fla., Peggy Ruth and Dr. 
Raymond Cullpepper, Birmingham, Ala.; sons and daughters-in- law, Mitchell 
Akins, Middleburg, Fla., the Rev. David and Debbie Price, Jesup, Ga., Charles 
and Donna Price, Atlanta, Jody and Patty Price, Nashville; special nephew, 
Francis Akins; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a number of 
nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held today, April 8, 2009, at 2 
p.m. in the Camp Creek Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the 
Statenville Cemetery in Statenville with full Masonic Rites. Mr. Akins will be 
at the church one hour prior to service - Music Funeral Services of Lakeland
