REV. J. W. EBERHART RITES HELD


   The Rev. J. W. Eberhardt, 64, of Rome, Georgia, died Saturday at Floyd
County Hospital.

   He was pastor of Beach Creek Baptist Church and had pastored several 
churches in the Royston and Comer areas.

   Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Beach 
Creek Baptist Church in Rome.  Burial was in Decatur.

   Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Crumbly Eberhardt; two sons, 
James Eberhardt, of St. Louis, Mo., and Anthony Eberhardt, of Decatur; 
two sistsers, Mrs. W. L. Frankum, Jr., of Gainesville, annd Mrs. Grady J. 
Bell, of Martin; three grandchildren and several neices and nephews.

   Mrs. Echols was held in high esteem, bu all who knew her.  Her 
life having been an exemplary one.  Her death is a source of 
deep regret to her many friends who sympathize with the family.

   Surviving her are her husband, J. R. Echols, one daughter, 
Miss Roxie, of Ila, four sons, Dr. George Echols, of Milledgeville, 
Mr. Arthur Echols, of Commerce, Mr. Henry Echols, of Danielsville, 
and Mr. Tom Echols of Washington, D. C.
