Benjamin Harrison Dickson, 89,of Carnesville, GA and lifelong resident of 
Franklin County, died Friday, August 23, 1957 in a Toccoa rest home following 
two weeks' serious illness.
Born October 31, 1868, in Franklin County, he was a son of the late Willis and 
Nancy Elizabeth Cleveland Dickson.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane 
Anna Williams Dickson in 1952.  He was also preced in death by a daughter 
Edise Wilson and a son Lewis Dickson   A former Carnesville merchant, he was 
prominently identified with business and civic affairs for many years.
Survivors include: 2 daughters: Mrs. W. E. (Leona) Wilson of Lavonia; Mrs. G. 
L. (Nancy) Loden of Athens; 4 sons:  John S, Dickson of Atlanta; Jeptha W. 
Dickson of Ft. Pierce, Fla; Henry S. Dickson of Liilburn; and Jim H. Dickson 
of Royston; a sister: Mrs. Nora Belle Purcell of Carnesville.  A number of 
grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 25, 1957 at 2:30 p.m. from 
Carnesville Baptist Church with Rev. E. B. Collins and Rev. G. F. Wilson 
officiating.  Burial will follow in Hunters Creek Cemetery at Red Hill.
The body will be at the B. D. Ginn Funeral Home until 1:30 p.m. Sunday, at 
which time it will be placed in the church.
