Clarence E. Christian, 95, of 334 Macedonia Church Road, died Saturday, Aug. 2,
1998.  A native of madison County, he spent the last 14 months with his son,
Joe, in Gainesville.  He was the son of the late William and Fannie Mae
Westbrook Christian and the widower of Ossie Mae Sorrow Christian.  He also was
preceeded in death by a daughter, Mary Lee Christian; 2 sons, Delma "Bussie" and
Leo Christian; and by a number of brothers and sisters.  He was a retired farmer
and a Blacksmith and Barber for the Madison County Community.  He was a deacon
of Bluestone Baptist Church, which he helped to construct.
Funeral services were Monday, August 3, 1998, at 2 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home
Chapel, Danielsville.  The Rev. Ray Jenkins and David McDonald officiated. 
Burial was in the Bluestone Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Danny christian, Jason Christian, Chad Christian, Bryan
Christian, O'Dennis Christian, Elmer Christian Jr. and Elmer Christian III.
Survivors include 3 sons and their wives, Elmer and Jennie Christian, Hull; Joe
and Margie Christian, Conyers/Gainesville; and Johnny and Brenda Christian,
Danielsville; 13 grandchildren; and a number of great grandchildren and
great-great grandchildren.
