Toccoa Ga. - Mrs. Ollie Lee Whiten Cheek, 72, widow of James (Jim) Cheek, 
died late Thursday night in the Stephens County Hospital after a long illness.

Mrs. Cheek was born in Franklin County, June 13, 1896, a daughter of the late 
Will Whiten and Charity Ann Bellamy Whiten.  She had lived in Stephens and 
Franklin Counties all of her life.  She was a member of Hunter's Creek Baptist 
Church.

Survivors: eight daughters, Mrs. Johnny Brown of Toccoa, Mrs. Odis Ivester of 
Carnesville, Mrs. James Brown of Elberton, Mrs. Ralph Seegars of Gainesville, 
Mrs. Edgar Graham of Crawford, Mrs. Robert Smith of Athens, Mrs. Gladys 
Roberts of East Point, Mrs. Fred McElroy of Greenwood, S.C.; two sons, Dan 
Cheek of Conyers and Billy Cheek of Winder; sister, Mrs. Eureka Burnett of 
Atlanta; tow brothers, Jewell Whiten of Carnesville and Preston Whiten of 
Toccoa; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. L. F. Whiten of Toccoa, Mrs. E. J. Whiten of 
Greenville, S.C., Mrs. Jolly Whiten of Carnesville; 37 grandchildren; 28 great-
grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Hunter's Creek Baptist 
Church with the Revs. Harvey Williams, Virgil Cleveland and James Whitlock 
officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body is at Dan Matthews Mortuary.
