B. Thomason, of near Ashland in Banks Academy community. Mrs. Thomason had been ill for about one year, a heart attack being the immediate cause of her death. Funeral services were not held up until Tuesday. The Rev. Mr. Sherwood officiated at rites held from Hunters Creek Baptist Church, of which this beloved lady was a member. Burial followed in the church yard. She was the former Miss Samantha Emily Dickson and was married 64 years ago to Mr. Marshall Leon Broome, and again to Asa Brawner Thomason. Both preceded her in death. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Fannie (John) Roberts of Toccoa and one son, A. B. Thomason of Ashland. Two sisters: Mrs. Hepsy Purcell of Carnesville and Mrs. Nora Bell Purcell of Toccoa. Three brothers: Ben Dickson of Carnesville, Jerry Dickson of Toccoa; and Tom Dickson of Florida. B. D. Ginn Funeral Director. Additional Comments: Her name was Emma and not Emily. She was married to Asa B. Thomason first. Two of their children preceded her in death: Mary Evie Thomason Pritchett and Genie Thomason Roberts. She & Mr. Broome had no children. Emma (Emily) parents were Willis Dickson and Nancy Cleveland.
