Wm. D. Akin Prominent Citizen, Answers Final Call

William David Akin, one of the County's most prominent citizens, died at his 
home in Red Hill Community Thursday, October 3rd while he has been in 
declining health for some time, his condition was not considered  serious 
until a few days prior to his death. He was 81 years old.
Mr. Akin was a faithful Christian and an active member of the Allens Methodist 
church. He was known for honesty in Business dealings and true to every trust 
placed in him. His passing is mourned by a large group of friends in Franklin 
and in ????? Georgia, where he held intensive farming interests.
He was born in Franklin County and was married to Miss Elizabeth Aderhold in 
young manhood, who preceded him to the grave by several years.
Funeral services were held at Allens Church Friday, October 4th, with W. W. 
Cash and Rev. D. L. Ha???? officiating.
Pallbearers were Stewards of the church; Edd Kelly, George Crenshaw, Charlie 
Dillsworth, W. B. Hunt, ???? Sosby, Leon Hutcherson. The ????? of the 
Carnesville M. E. Church were honorary Pallbearers.
He is survived by one son, J. C. Akin of Elberton; two daughters, Miss Eunice 
and Leila Akin, of Carnesville; one brother, J. S. Akin of Carnesville, and a 
number of other relatives and friends.
B. D. Ginn funeral directors, was in charge of arrangements.
