The Carnesville Herald February 15, 1934
Duane Garrison, ten year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Garrison, of Plainview,
accidentally shot his right foot with a shotgun while out hunting Thursday morning
of last week. The foot was sol badly mangled that it was necessary to have it
amputated at Brown's hospital in Royston where he was rushed immediately after
being found.

The boy was out hunting near the home E.Z. McDuffie and evidently stumbled,
causing the gun to fire and the full charge entered his leg just above the ankle.
According to reports from the hospital he is rapidly improving and will probably
be carried home the last of the week.
