A busy housewife, Mrs. Fred Carson, has been honored as Red Hill's "Woman of the 
Year." She will compete with other community winners from Franklin County in a 
county-wide program Friday at Carnesville Club House, beginning at 10 a.m.

Mrs. Carson received the honor from members of the community's home demonstration 
club, which annually selects a candidate fro the county honor.

This year's choice has been active in home demonstration work for 35 years, having 
served in all official capacities of the local organization.  Mrs. Carson was 
president of the Red Hill club when the school lunchroom program was formally 
began more than a decade ago.

She is a member of the Red Hill Garden Club, mother of two sons, and an active 
church worker.
