The Carnesville Herald, May 1929 May 30, 1929
(Royston Record)

Mr. and Mrs. Luke Campbell, residing in Northeast Royston, were somewhat surprised
Sunday morning about three o'clock, when, upon investigating disturbances about
their home, they found a girl baby upon their porch.

It appears that a car drove up to the home, an occupant got out and beat upon the
front of the house with rocks. This awakened Mr. and Mrs. Campbell, but hearing
the car drive away they did not investigate. Shortly after, however, the car
returned, this time one of its occupants hurling a large rock upon the weather-
boarding of the house, departing only when a light was turned on in the home.

Upon investigation of the continued disturbances they found the baby, a present at
first not particularly desired. Later, however, upon reasoning the matter more
fully, Mr. and Mrs. Campbell have decided to give the young lady a home and do
the best for her that they are capable of. Their many friends, too, congratulate
them upon the decision, for in keeping her, the infant is assured a good home. The
babe appears to be about six weeks of age.
