Factory Site Settled.

The site for the sugar factor has been definitely decided upon. G. C.
Parkinson of the sugar company was in the city Wednesday and accepted the site
just west of the Payette river near the wagon bridge, between the river and the
railroad track, consisting of about 20 acres, on which the special beet sugar
committee has held an option for some time. About 18 acres of the land was
secured from Mrs. William Windle, and the remainder of it, about two acres
lying near the railroad track, from the Short estate. This tract, purchased by
the beet sugar committee in accordance with the contract, together with the 100
acres secured by the sugar company from J. T. Clement, gives the company
practically all of the land bounded by the river on the east, the railroad
track on the west and a line drawn east and west from the Washoe school house
on the south.
