A PAYETTE BOY MAKES GOOD

There has been much said about securing work for the returned soldiers which
is all very proper. We have one boy however who was able to ? has own nest
without any help. Carrol Shanks, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Shanks,
after receiving his discharge from the service of the Government, desired to
get into something big and believing the best plant to do so, was to go where
the big business was landed in New York City. With only his uniform and an
honest face for a recommendation and secured a position with the largest
national Bank in the United States, at a fabulous salary and with in a short
time resigned to accept an offer from another Banking concern at better than
$4,000 per year.
