QUIET WEDDING OF POPULAR PAYETTE COUPLE

Miss Reva Cree and Mr. Ira Tweedy were united in marriage at seven o'clock
this (Thursday) morning at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.
Cree, in this city, Rev. G. W. Barnes, pastor of the Methodist church
officiating.

The wedding was a very quiet affair, there being present only the family of
the bride and a few intimate friends of the contracting parties. The bride
and groom took their departure on the 8:40 "Pony" train for Boise, where they
will spend a week or ten days. Upon their return to Payette they will be at
home in the residence formerly occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Higley, the Sherwood
cottage on Second Avenue South.

The bride is one of Payette's most popular young ladies and was formerly a
teacher in our public schools. Both she and her sister, Miss Bess Cree,
taught the past season in the city schools of Lewiston. Mr. Tweedy is
principal of the Payette Central school. He is a son of Judge Tweedy, the
prominent Lewiston attorney. He has gained for himself an enviable reputation
as an educator and progressive citizen during the several years he has been
connected with our schools; he has shown his usual good judgment in the
selection of a life partner.

Mr. and Mrs. Tweedy will be showered with the congratulations and best wishes
of the community upon their return to this city.

It is understood that it is Mr. Tweedy's intention to conduct a Summer school
in Payette, the date of the opening of which has not yet been announced.

Note: According to the Western States Marriage Index, Ira Tweedy married Reva
V. Cree on 6-1-1916, Payette. ch
