PURCELL-COOPER
 
Word has been received at the Independent office of the marriage of L. I. 
Purcell, editor of the Payette Independent, to Miss Hazel Cooper, daughter of 
Mr. and Mrs. John F. Cooper of Pesotum, Ill. The marriage took place at high 
noon on Saturday, April 6th, at Colorado Springs.  The ceremony which was 
witnessed only by close relatives of the bride, was performed by the Rev. 
Clough A. Waterfield of the First Methodist church of Colorado Springs, where 
the bride and her mother are caring for a sick brother.  Mr. and Mrs. Purcell 
will spend a brief honeymoon in Colorado points, and after April 20 will be at 
home to their friends at the Nesbit house on North 10th Street.
 
Miss Cooper after a course at the University of Illinois, taught for several 
years in the schools of Pesotum.  Mr. Purcell is the editor of the Payette 
Independent, and a Chautauqua lecturer of some note.
 
Both Mr. and Mrs. Purcell will find a warm welcome awaiting them from the 
people of Payette.
