Scott County Argus Newspaper August 21st 1908:

Died
This week we are called upon to chronicles the death of Nicholas Beckrich, 
a prominent farmer of Eagle Creek which occurred at his home Friday 
morning, August 14th.
Deceased had been in poor health for months, suffering from the effects 
of cancer of the stomach, and for two weeks preceding his death had been 
confined to his bed.  Mr. Beckrich was one of the best known residents 
of Eagle Creek, who had won the respect and esteem of his neighbors and 
friends by an honest and industrious life, and in his death the community 
loses a good citizen and his family a kind and loving husband and father.
He was born at Schockville, belgium in 1846 and came to America with his 
parents in 1864, settleing in Eagle Creek where he continued to reside 
throughout his lifetime.  His marriage to Miss Catherine Pauly of 
Chanhassen took place in 1874.  Nine children were born to them, one son 
Henry preceding his father to the grave several years ago.  Surviving Mr. 
Beckrich are his wife; six sons, Nicholas and John of Shakopee; Matt, 
Dominic, Peter and Emil at home; and two daughters, Mrs. Henry Marschall 
of Eagle Creek, and Mrs. Matt Bauer of Cannon Falls.
The funeral was held Monday morning at nine o'clock from St. Mark's 
Church in this city, and was very largely attended.  Rev. Mons. Plut 
conducted the burial services and the remains were laid to rest in the 
upper Catholic Cemetary.
A large number of realtives and friends were in attendance at the funeral 
from distant points including Minneapolis, Chanhassen, Marystown, Cannon 
Falls. Hastings and New Trier.
