 Don C. Fields, M.D. born September 17, 1924 passed away Thursday, October 13, 
2011, shortly after celebrating his 87th birthday. Don grew up in Orleans, 
Indiana, the son of Jesse James Fields and Maude Ann Jones Fields. After 
graduating from Orleans High School , he joined the Army Air Force and 
completed his tour of duty aboard a B-24 in WWII, stationed at Rackheath Air 
Force Base in England. He then attended Indiana University Medical School and 
became a vascular and thoraic surgeon. He resided in Lafayette, Indiana where 
he practice at the Arnett Clinic until his retirement in 1987. Upon retirement 
he and his wife retired to Fort Myers, FL. 
 He is survived by his wife of 40 years, his son, two daughters, several step-
children , a sister and nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
 He was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy Alice Turley Fields, his 
son, Don Steven Fields, his brothers, Farrell, Bob, and Kenneth Fields, his 
sisters, Margaret Hudelson, Ellen Harman and Mary Ellis and his parents.
 Memorial services will be held in Edison Hall at Cypress Cove, at 3 p.m. on 
Sunday, October 23 in Ft. Myers, FL.
